Guide
How This Works
Start here: add your regular bills under Expenses, then your income under My Pay. Log every pay there as it lands and everything else calculates itself.
Dashboard
The big number is what's free to spend this week - your leftover (income minus every expense) minus whatever you've set aside for emergency and savings. Tick those in the plan and it drops to match. The page reads top to bottom: log your income, see the plan, set money aside, then review the charts.
This Week's Plan tells you what to put into Emergency and Savings from what's left - the split is yours to set under Allocation Rules. Emergency stops taking a share automatically once it reaches its ~3-month target.
Net Reserves is the one-line answer to "am I getting ahead" - everything you've set aside (Savings, Emergency Fund, Timebank and Spending Money) minus everything still owed on your debts. It updates the moment you change any of them.
A red banner appears at the top when something is due within 2 days. Tap the × to dismiss it - it comes back on its own the next time that bill rolls around.
Upcoming This Week lists anything due inside 7 days. Where It Goes and Spending Trend build themselves as you log income week to week.
Expenses
Everything you pay, grouped by how often it comes out - weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly. Each is converted to a weekly figure so the Dashboard can plan around all of them together.
Give any item a category (drives its icon, the Where It Goes chart, and Category Budgets) and an optional due date - the countdown resets itself on that item's own schedule once it passes, no need to touch it again.
Need a category that isn't listed? Hit + Add category on any expense card. It becomes available everywhere a category is picked. Custom ones show as small chips you can remove with the ×.
Category Budgets is a read-only summary - each category's weekly budget is simply whatever you've allocated to items tagged with it. Nothing to fill in. Show History on each card reveals what that card actually cost, week by week.
Daily
My Daily Spend is for day-to-day spending - a coffee, groceries, fuel - completely separate from the recurring bills on the Expenses tab. Those keep working exactly as they always have.
Log a spend with an amount, an optional note, and an optional photo of the receipt. The big number shows the total for whichever date is in the date field - change that date and everything follows it, so each day starts fresh at zero.
Daily Budget Source sets what you're measuring against. Pick any category and your allowance is what you've allocated to it ÷ 7, or choose Custom $ amount and type a daily figure directly. The Daily Budget card then shows how much you've spent and how much is left.
The Calendar colours each day green, amber or red against that daily budget. Tap any day to see exactly what you spent it on. Spending by Day of Week shows which days tend to cost you the most.
Split a bill divides a total by however many people and drops your share straight into the Amount field - handy for a shared dinner or a group taxi.
Savings
A running balance from your own deposits and withdrawals, plus growth projections based on your recommended weekly amount.
Set a Savings Goal - a name, a target amount, and optionally a date. You'll see how funded it is, what's left to go, and roughly how many weeks at your current savings rate.
The Debt Payoff Tracker simulates Avalanche (highest interest first) or Snowball (smallest balance first). It's a projection only - it doesn't change any other figures, though the balances you enter do feed Net Reserves.
Timebank
Timebank is salary sacrifice - pre-tax pay your employer sets aside for you before tax is taken. Say your gross pay is $3,000 and you put $1,000 into timebank: you're taxed on the remaining $2,000 and paid the net, while your employer holds the $1,000 as a separate pre-tax pot you can draw on any time. When you withdraw it, that's when it gets taxed, and you receive the net.
Not the same as Savings. Savings is post-tax money you already hold; timebank is pre-tax money your employer holds and taxes on the way out. They're cousins, not twins - track them separately so you don't confuse pre-tax and after-tax dollars. Timebank still counts toward your Net Reserves.
Pay Calc
Rename categories and set your own multipliers to match your actual agreement. Allowances support quantity × rate, or set quantity to 1 for a flat $ amount. Save a calculated shift to any day, then Weekly Total adds them up.
Good to know
Everything saves automatically as you go. Signed in, it syncs to your account too - nobody else can see it, RLS keeps it scoped to you alone. Photos and documents always stay on this device only, so download a backup from the Dashboard now and then, especially before switching phones.
You can install BudgetBeacon to your home screen from your browser menu. Once installed, long-press the icon for a Log a Spend shortcut that jumps straight to the Daily tab.
Financial Report at the bottom of the Dashboard produces a styled summary - snapshot, charts, expenses by category, savings and debt payoff - ready to save as a PDF or print.

Emergency - % of leftover
Savings - % of leftover
These two percentages are taken from The rest splits on This Week's Plan - what is left of the pay that just landed once the bills line, and anything going toward getting square, are out. Whatever the two do not take becomes your spending money. Adjust the split any time.

Week start sets which day the Daily Spend "This Week" total counts from. "I allocate" sets how often the allocation checklist ticks reset - match it to how often you actually move your money (weekly, fortnightly or monthly), so it doesn't nag between paydays. Turn the mascot off to hide it entirely; when it's on, it still follows your device's reduced-motion setting. Kakeibo mode adds an optional monthly view - four jars showing where your spending actually went; it reads your data and changes nothing.
Financial Report
Save a PDF or print. Comprehensive includes every section - income, expenses (all line items), savings & goals, timebank, spending money, net worth and debt - with all charts; Brief is a one-page KPI snapshot.
Backup Your Data
Signed-in data syncs to your account. Photos and documents stay on this device only, so a downloaded backup is still the only copy of those - download one regularly, especially before switching phones or clearing browser data. Backups include your uploaded documents and receipts, so a large document library makes for a larger file.
Export to CSV
Export a date range as CSV. The range defaults to this financial year (1 July - 30 June). Only things that actually happened are included - logged income and daily spends; recurring bills you never logged as a spend are not.

What is Timebank?
Timebank is salary sacrifice - pre-tax pay your employer sets aside for you before tax is taken out. Example: if your gross pay is $3,000 and you put $1,000 into timebank, you're taxed on the remaining $2,000 and paid the net. Your employer holds that $1,000 as a separate, pre-tax pot you can access any time; when you withdraw it, that's when it's taxed, and you receive the net.
It's not another savings account. Savings is post-tax money you already hold; timebank is pre-tax money your employer holds and taxes on the way out - cousins, not twins. Amounts here are recorded as their pre-tax value and still count toward your Net Reserves.

GST is optional. "Fill 1/11" assumes a standard taxable supply - GST-free items (fresh food, most medical, some education) have none, so check before relying on it. Leave blank if there's no GST to record; it fills the field only and never changes the amount.
